Domestic Violence and Family Law Seminar

This lunch and Learn will address the strategic benefits and potential risk of pleading  domestic and sexual violence facts in protective orders and family law pleadings. Also addressed will be strategies for effective enforcement of orders and other post trial remedies in order to better represent survivors of domestic violence beyond trial.

            Presenter:

Humaira A. Mirza, Mirza Law Firm LLCOverland Park
Humaira is an attorney and founder of the Mirza Law Firm, LLC. She practices family law and estate planning.  She is a passionate advocate of domestic abuse victim.  Humaira is a volunteer attorney with Legal Aid of Western Missouri.  She also volunteers at the local domestic abuse shelters and the local Islamic centers. She recently received the Missouri Bar YLS Pro Bono Publico Award for her work for victims of domestic abuse.  She is currently working on starting a non-profit organization and opening another domestic abuse shelter in the Kansas City Metro area.
